This is an awful place. They failed to x ray my cat when they noticed a bump on her head a couple of months ago and we were prescribed antibiotics twice. When the antibiotics didnt work we took her back and only then did she get the treatment needed. She suffered more because of their mistakes and in the end had to be put down. The vet said I could fill in a complaints form but to be honest we wont be using this place again. The staff were below our expectations of how a vet should act in circumstances and failed to show adequate compassion There was a different vet everytime we went there. I am always gagging when I go in their because of the awful smell and barking of dogs. In my opinion dont go there if you want honest compassionate treatment for your pet.
I took my dog to be put down and the vet told me a catheter would have to be inserted to administer the lethal injection. She asked my permission to take my dog out of the consulting room so the nurse could insert the catheter. She was away for at least 10 minutes. when they returned my dog tried to bolt for the door. I held her while the injection was done. It was over so quick, Then I lifted her onto the table which was when I saw what they had done to my poor dog, Both front legs were shaved. the one with the catheter was bandaged and the other was a mess from repeated attemts to administer the catheter. They must have muzzled her and held her down while they hurt her over and over, I feel so bad for her.She trusted me and I let this happen to her.My ssister works with rescue dogs and she is shocked and the vets at her centre are shocked. now i know it it not normal to use a catheter or to take the dog away before doing a lethal injection. They lied to me. my best friend is dead and they made it worse.i feel so sad and guikty.her last ten minutes were fear and pain. it would have been kinder to shoot her. the rspca are unkind and untruthful. i wont ever trust them again.
Disgusted at the RSPCA Greater Manchester Hospital. Took our much loved 8 yr old Labrador. His back legs had packed in and he was not getting up anymore. After speaking to an advisor there was told he would need surgery and o take him down to be assessed. He was still eating, drinking, wagging his tail he just struggled to stand though could do it. Took him along to see a young adolescent vet who obviously was the worlds best vet and argued that regardless this dog could not walk and would never walk and had no feeling in his hind legs although moments earlier the dog had yelped in pain from the legs being trapped and had walked around the garden only 12 hours earlier. Regardless he would have needed endless surgery so my partner took the decision to have his suffering stopped. The dog got quite violent when the injection was trying to be administered so they basically sent my partner home. Told him to leave he was no longer needed they would put him to sleep. And that was that. My partner left that room in floods of tears having to face a packed hospital. This was yesterday we have no idea what happened to our dog or if they even managed to end his suffering. Im so angry there was no care or consideration for the people who just lost a very loved loyal family member!!
Excellent care and very professional. saved my daughters dog after a road accident. The care and understanding offered by staff was very helpfull. The waiting room was pleasant and had good amount of reading matter to help pass the time.Pricing was down to a donation only but if you can afford it please give genorously as they deserve your support
The wonderful, amazing people who work at this hospital pretty much saved my cats life when he got run over a few years ago. He was there for just over 5 days and was looked after wonderfully, he was cared for and required numerous operations and other procedures. Of course the RSPCA are a charity, but they charge silly small prices, at the time it was a great help as I was at college and would not have been able to afford his care from a vets. Please support the RSPCA, they save so many animals every day.
